Theresa Ann Rutherford
Yesterday, the 11th of June, this lovely lady Ann Rutherford, passed away at the age of 94 years old. Born Theresa Ann Rutherford on November 2nd 1917 she joined M~G~M in the late 30s and pared up with Mickey Rooney in the famous Andy Hardy series, played Scarlet's little sister in "Gone With the WInd" and was seen in many other films through the 40s and 50s.
She continued to live in her Beverly Hills home just a few houses away from where Howard Hughes crashed on his first test flight of the experimental XF-11 in '46, she also at one time owned the Capital Record building in Hollywood, she lived on her own in the same home she had since the early 40s. She was a world traveler in between times in Hollywood in her later years. I have to say, I have had the privilege of meeting her in 2003 at a friend's house. She also made several appearances for film festivals and such. She was so kind, smiling always and always had such nice things to say! She never for one moment acted superior to others, she respected people and had a genuine outlook on life.
We will miss you Ann, thank you for all of your many accomplishments and contributions to the art of film! You have now joined the rest of the brightest stars in Hollywood's firmament.
