Celebrity Charity Concert in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association
Organised by the Lord Chief Sheriff of Cambridge, Nigel Brown, in honour of Jeremy Marshall to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Nigel convened string players who’d been helped in the past by The Stradivari Trust so it really was a star studded array of super talented musicians and instruments. The programme was sublime too: Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro, Schubert’s Trout, a new electro-acoustic piece for cello by John Metcalfe called “Constant Filter”, Mendelssohn’s Octet, Bach’s Brandenburgs, Dvořák’s Piano Quintet, and RVW’s Thomas Tallis to end. Kate and I went as part of my violin teacher’s, Gabrielle Sutcliffe, fan club.
