Stroll instead of Sprint

So the city threw $24 million at Sprint/Nextel and IBM so that I can then spend money on a GPS satellite receiver to alert me that my bus is late, which - *gasp* - I already knew!

I suspect a lot of the bus-bunching is driven by drivers purposely keeping buses close to one another in order to coordinate break times.

Will a GPS real-time broadcast of this alleged tactic improve system management, or will it just tell us what we already know in a more expensive & high-tech way?
