Bubba Hebert, Kegan Navarre at the Eunice Sunday Mardi Gras Street Dance, Feb. 11, 2018
Two great grandsons of the legendary Cajun musician Iry LeJeune led bands performing at the Eunice Sunday Mardi Gras Street Dance in downtown Eunice Feb. 11, 2018. Bubba Hebert and the New Morse Playboys started at 10 a.m. while the city was hosting a Mardi Gras boucherie, followed by Kegan Navarre and Louisiana Traditions at 12:30.
After photographing chicken chasing in Church Point, I arrived toward the end of Bubba Hebert’s set and then returned later to get some shots of Kegan Navarre. Later in the afternoon, the Children’s Mardi Gras Courir rolled down Second Street, followed by music from Kyle Huval and the Dixie Club Ramblers. (I caught up with them Monday night at the Holiday Lounge in Mamou.)
Blue overhead lighting illuminated part of the Fred Charlie Music Stage. I tried to adjust the color cast in Lightroom.
