Seven groups performing at the KATC/Louisiana Folk Roots Chat Room during Festival International
In 2018, the space at the festival formerly reserved for the Heritage Stage became the location for the KATC/Louisiana Folk Roots Chat Room tent along with tents for CODOFIL (Council for the Development of French in Louisiana) and for a delegation promoting Congrès Mondial acadien 2019.
When I had time, I took a few photos of some of the groups appearing at the chat room, where festival-goers could get up close to performances or to interviews with musicians.

The photo set includes shots of Walter Mouton and the Scott Playboys that, because the stage at that time was quite dark, I converted to sepia images in Lightroom (except for three photos taken with low-power bounce flash).

Other chat room groups included the Zydeco Ragin’ Steppers led by Lil’ Nate on keyboard (students from traditional music classes at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), Adeline et les amis du Teche, the International Fiddle Summit presented by Sola Violins (solaviolins.com/) and hosted by David Greely, Vermilion Express (another UL group), Dominique Dupuis, and Ethan Airhart avec Deux Pour la Route.
