Mini Mardi Gras, Folklife, Other Activities at Experience Louisiana Festival, Oct. 28, 2017
Most of my photographs from the third annual Experience Louisiana Festival depict the great bands performing on the festival stage. I had only a little time to visit other areas of the festival. Photos showing just a very few of the many other activities are collected in this album of photos taken Oct. 28. The festival continued Oct. 29.

This year’s festival had a special emphasis on agriculture. I have a couple of shots of farming equipment, but for coverage of activities sponsored by the LSUE AgCenter, check out www.lsuagcenter.com/profiles/rbogren/articles/page1510069....

I included is a series of shots of the Mini Mardi Gras run organized by the Eunice Mardi Gras Association. Aaron Smith, known as the Mayor of Patasa, a community near Eunice that was once part of the Mardi Gras Courir route, threw a couple of chickens to the Mardi Gras at the festival. He used to throw a number of chickens to the Mardi Gras who stopped at his house in Patasa. For the Mini Mardi Gras Run, he transported a small cabin to the LSUE campus to serve as a mini house stop.
