Traiteurs Reunion, Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Girard Park, Lafayette, Oct. 14
The Traiteurs, a legendary assemblage of top Cajun musicians, reunited at Festivals Acadiens et Créoles to perform at under the Salle de Danse tent late Saturday afternoon, Oct. 14, 2017. Over the years, the Traiteurs donated all funds raised at their performances to a successful effort to establish an university endowment in memory of Dr. Tommy Comeaux, a pathologist who was also a central figure in and much beloved member of the Lafayette music scene until his death in 1997 in a traffic accident. The Traiteurs Reunion band included Sonny Landreth, Ward Lormand, Gary Newman, Tony Latiolais, Danny Kimball, and Pat Mould, with David Greely on fiddle, which Al Berard played with the Traiteurs until his passing in 2014. The photos were taken during the first part of their set at the festival.
