Mamou Cajun Music Festival honors Reggie Matte, Sept. 9, 2017
Accordionist and vocalist Reggie Matte was the honoree at the 46th annual Mamou Cajun Music Festival held Sept. 8 and 9, 2017, at the Mamou Recreational Center. This Flickr album includes photos taken Sept. 9 of the honoree presentation made by Terral Aymond, festival president, and Mark Young, vice president, of Reggie Matte playing with the Jambalaya Cajun Band (he’s been a member for some 30 years), and of the band Jason Frey and Lagniappe from earlier in the afternoon. I also included a shot of Mark Young auctioning off a Mardi Gras capuchon with mask to benefit the school French immersion program.

In addition to music and dancing, the festival offers an all-day schedule of traditional contests as well as workshops. For more information, go to www.mamoucajunmusicfestival.com/.
