Folklife, Mardi Gras mini-run, a few other activities at Experience Louisiana Festival, Oct. 22, 2016
Most of my Flickr photos of the second annual Experience Louisiana Festival held Oct. 22-23, 2016, on the LSU at Eunice campus, show musicians performing on the main stage. I did manage to get a few shots of other activities Oct. 22, but I didn’t photograph many other areas of the festival like the Craft Village, Food Village, Artists’ Village (with numerous children’s activities and performances), Antique Car Show, cooking demonstrations, LSUE baseball and softball games, and other activities. I photographed only a few of the many booths in the Folklife Village. I also visited the Film Village to view Pat Mire’s film “Dirty Rice.” (The Franco Fun Chorale was performing on the main stage at the same time.)

The photo set includes shots of the Eunice Mardi Gras Association Mini-Run. I missed the chicken chase (the chicken was a bit late arriving on campus), but the festival’s Facebook page includes some excellent chicken chasing photos.

In short, out of all of the festivals I’ve attended, the Experience Louisiana Festival offers a greater variety of activities, demonstrations, and performances. For more information, go to www.experiencelouisiana.org/ and www.facebook.com/experiencelouisiana/. The Facebook page includes hundreds of great photos of people and activities taken by festival organizer Dwight Jodon.
