Chubby Carrier opens Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Oct. 12, 2018
Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, now in their 30th year, opened Festivals Acadiens et Créoles at 5:30 p.m. in Lafayette’s Girard Park Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, with some great party time zydeco. The photos in this album were taken between 5:30 and 6:15. During the first part of the performance, the sun created a mixture of sun and shadows across the stage that made it difficult to get good shots, but, as the sun began to set, lighting conditions improved.

I left the front of the stage about 6:15 and moved to the opposite side of an area filled with dancers to try to get a few shots of them (which will be in a separate album) before it got too dark, so I missed shots of drummer Jayme Romain singing at the front of the stage and of bassist Randall Jackson playing accordion.
