Sunpie Barnes and the Louisiana Sunspots at the Liberty Theater, Feb. 13, 2016
Bruce Sunpie Barnes and the Louisiana Sunspots, a Creole/Zydeco band from New Orleans, performed at the Liberty Theater, Feb. 13, 2016, during a special program to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, which is a sponsor of the Liberty’s Rendez-vous des Cajuns show. The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, one of six sites of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, is located next to the Liberty Theater.

In addition to Sunpie Barnes on accordion, other members of the band were Tasha Covington on frottoir; Matt Humpsey on guitar; Michael Harris on bass; and Leroy Etienne on drums. Fiddler Michael Doucet was a special guest for the final number. The show, which also included a performance by the Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band, was hosted by Herman Fuselier.
