Five Bands at Downtown Eunice Mardi Gras Dances Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016
This photo set includes shots of five bands that performed on the Fred Charlie Stage at Walnut and Second Streets in downtown Eunice the Saturday before Mardi Gras Feb. 6, 2016:

Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns

Where in the past, Eunice had two stages downtown, in 2016, organizers decided to offer only one stage with more bands. It was named in honor of Cajun musician and record producer Fred Charlie, the original organizer of the Second Street stage who is still an organizer for the event. Various businesses and individuals contributed to fund the stage.

I spent 20 or 30 minutes with each band. Since it was overcast, the stage lighting was on during part of the day as well as at night. The splashes of lighting quickly rotated through different colors, creating considerable problems when try to shoot with a minimum of flash. That issue, of course, was of no concern to the large crowds who congregated around the stage, the biggest Mardi Gras turnout in Eunice for street dances that I have seen.
