Peppy Carmello and Friends at the Liberty Theater Aug. 7, 2010
Note: Peppy Carmello died June 18, 2011, in an automobile accident in Lafayette. He was 44. He was a wonderful accordionist and a superb vocalist. After you listened to him perform songs like "Midland Two-Step" or “Coeur Barré” on the two Lafayette Rhythm Devils CDs that he recorded, you kept playing them over and over. He will be greatly missed.

A few photos of Peppy's son, Floyd Carmello, playing with Bonne Chance at the 2011 Mamou Cajun Music Festival are included in this set: www.flickr.com/photos/26984546@N07/sets/72157627386332108/

Peppy Carmello retired from the Lafayette Rhythm Devils a few years back, but he kept on playing the accordion, appearing at Festivals Acadiens et Creoles with Rhythm Devils Randy Vidrine and Chris Segura.

Now, Peppy has a new Cajun trio that plays traditional music. Other members are Robin Bruck-Tiralla and Beth Fogleman. Among their upcoming appearances is an evening gig at Cafe des Amis in Breaux Bridge Oct. 6, 2010.
