Church Point Courir de Mardi Gras, Feb. 23, 2020
One stop during the Church Point Courir de Mardi Gras, held Feb. 23 in 2020, may very well hold the worldwide record for most chickens thrown to chicken chasers. As is often the case, the grounds in 2020 were wet. Chicken chasers slid in the mud across the lawn pursing chickens thrown in every direction for more than half an hour. The chicken chasers have their own trailers at the front of the courir. This set of photos also shows horse riders and the procession of floats, which was still under way when I left to head back to Eunice. In the afternoon, the courir paraded through Church Point.
