Shawn P. Saucier and the Louisiana Scramble Band at the Liberty, Jan. 11, 2020
Shawn P. Saucier and the Louisiana Scramble Band performed a mixture of Cajun, swamp pop, and rock ‘n’ roll, along with three Mardi Gras songs, at the Liberty Theater Jan. 11, 2020. In addition to Shawn P. Saucier on accordion and vocals, the band included Jerry Dee on keyboard and vocals, Randy Booth on guitar and vocals, Gee Vige on bass, and Jeb Saucier (Shawn’s son) on acoustic guitar as well as accordion for a couple of numbers with his father also on accordion. Sharon Booth, wife of Randy Booth, sang a couple of songs. Gerald Dunaway, son of Shelton Dunaway, co-lead vocalist with the legendary swamp pop band Cookie and the Cupcakes, played drums with authority, especially on “Mathilda,” the signature song of his father’s band and the unofficial swamp pop anthem.
