Goldman Thibodeaux inducted into Order of Living Legends, Dec. 14, 2019
Goldman Thibodeaux was inducted into the Acadian Museum Order of Living Legends at the St. Landry Parish Visitor Center Dec. 14, 2019. Warren Perrin, chairman of the Acadian Museum in Erath, presented him with a certificate that read “In recognition of notable contributions to the preservation of the Acadian culture, be it known by all that the Acadian Heritage and Culture Foundation, Inc., inducts Goldman Thibodeaux into the Order of Living Legends.” He was nominated for the honor by Darrell Bourque. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the monthly Zydeco Capital Jam led by Goldman Thibodeaux.

Before the jam session and induction ceremony, Georgina Dhillon, editor and publisher of Kreol Magazine, gave a presentation about the magazine, invited leading members of the Louisiana Creole community to speak, and then distributed copies of her London-based publication, which covers Creole culture throughout the world. When I arrived for the start of the jam session, her presentation was already under way (Horace Trahan was addressing the crowd).
