A few photos from Scène Atelier, 2019 Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, plus jam sessions
The air-conditioned Scène Atelier tent at Festivals Acadiens et Créoles offers excellent workshop programs, but, since everyone is seated, maneuvering to a good vantage point for photography can be a problem and the relatively low light is also problematic. Since I had five outdoor stages I was trying to cover, I managed to stop briefly at Scène Atelier for only a glimpse at three programs. On Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, the tent was packed to overflowing for Joel Savoy on fiddle and Linzay Young on accordion, so I knelt behind the first row of seats and held my camera up above my head for a quick shot. On Sunday, I took a few photos of daughters of the late Delton Broussard along with their brother, Jeffery Broussard, performing traditional Creole juré songs. (Check out this link for a sample of their juré: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uj73K29bi8.) I also took a few very quick photos of Cory and Lisa McCauley, excellent Cajun musicians who years ago moved from Evangeline Parish to the Houston area.

Also included in this album are a few photos of Jam Ҫa, the jam session led by well-known Cajun and Creole musicians.
