Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rôdailleurs, Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Oct. 13, 2019
Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rôdailleurs performed at Scène Ma Louisiane during Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2019, in Lafayette’s Girard Park.

The photos in this album were taken during the first half of their set. I left to go to the Festival Friends tent across the way to eat a snack (I skipped lunch). While there, I listened to Jourdan Thibodeaux deliver an impassioned call to “live our culture,” to preserve your heritage by living it every day, followed by a juré-inspired lyrical prayer that, resonating with the same force as Zachary Richard’s “Réveille,” delivered a powerful message accompanied by the refrain “Tu vis ta culture /Ou tu tues ta culture / Il n’y a pas de milieu.” For a video of the speech and the song, plus the French and English lyrics, go to
