Yvette Landry & The Jukes with Warren Storm, award presentation, Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Oct. 12, 2019
Yvette Landry and The Jukes performed at the Salle de Dance tent, including a special appearance by Warren Storm, during the 45th annual Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12, 2019, in Girard Park, Lafayette. Landry also received a plaque recognizing her induction into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame presented by Mike Shepherd, founder of the LMHF.

Yvette Landry and Warren Storm have teamed up to produce a new book, “Taking the World by Storm: A Conversation with Warren ‘Storm’ Schexnider, The Godfather of Swamp Pop,” published by the University of Louisiana Press, and a CD, “Taking the World by Storm: A Regional Roots Journey with ‘The Godfather of Swamp Pop,’” featuring guests John Fogerty, Sonny Landreth, Marc Broussard and more. During the festival set, Warren Storm presented Yvette Landry with a framed poster from 1985 Festivals Acadiens, which paid homage to Cleoma Breaux Falcon.

During Warren Storm’s appearance, the crowd pressed really tightly around the stage. I took photos using Nikon’s Live View feature holding the camera high above my head, producing some soft focus, rather grainy shots at fairly high ISOs.
