Saturday Programs at the Acadian Prairie Cultural Center, March 2, 2019
Every Saturday, the Acadian Prairie Cultural Center next to the Liberty Theater has several activities, among them a music program and a cooking demonstration. The Saturday before Mardi Gras, March 2, 2019, the Music Program on the Claudia Wood Front Porch Stage, 2:45-3:45 p.m., featured Paul Daigle, who is one of the premier Cajun accordionists, Ryan Simon on guitar, who is the accordionist with T’Monde and drummer with the Pine Leaf Boys, and Cameron ‘Fontenot, who has quickly become a top young Cajun fiddle player. At 4 p.m. in the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center kitchen, Johnny Reed demonstrated how to prepare a sauce piquante before a capacity crowd.

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center is a site of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.
