Diverse conifer forest, Ohayashi, Tokushima

An uneven canopied and very conifer diverse forest on a serpentine substrate with up to 7 species of conifer groing together:

Pinus parviflora ゴヨウマツ

Pinus densiflora アカマツ

Cryptomeria japonica スギ

Thujopsis dolabrata アスナロ

Chameocyparis obtusa ヒノキ

Abies firma モミ

Sciadopitys verticillata コウヤマキ

Also, in the area were Torrya nucifera and Cephalotaxus harringtonia and Tsuga sieboldii.

This diversity is probably possible because of the low nutrient substrate slowing down the growth of all species so that no one can dominate the canopy.
