The Neolog Synagogue from Brasov from the “Poarta Schei” street no. 29 was built between the years 1899-1901.
This Jewish worship place was built according to the plans of the Hungarian architect Lipot (Leopold) Baumhorn and was inaugurated on the 20th of August 1901. The synagogue is built on a surface of 657 square meters in a neo-gothic style with Moorish accents, having the plans of a church in three naves with Roman and Gothic decorative elements.
The last restoration of the Neolog Synagogue from Brasov was made in the year 2001 for its 100th anniversary. The synagogue is included since 2004 on the list of historical monuments in Brasov.
