Saipan Lighthouse Damaged 1944

The lighthouse was severely damaged by bombing in 1944. The text on the reverse of the undated photo refers to an old Japanese lighthouse "as it was when a crew of 117th Seabees moved in with ladders, tools, etc." See the other photo showing the lighthouse after it was repaired by the 117th Seabees.
