Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia
In this shot, looking out of Peggy's Cove, to St. Margaret's Bay, I had three choices in exposure control to either highlight the sunset, the near shoreline and buildings or to try for a compromise. Thus the slight view of the buildings, with the sky preserved. Obviously there are other ways to "nail" this type of view, but it is one that always gives me a little difficulty, mostly because I don't do much with filters or software. I did see a guy nearby doing this one with a Cokin filter, which is a system I might like to try some day - "if I live long enough", as my dad used to say on occasion..
