Jockey's Ridge

That's me in 1999, standing on the remnants of an old putt-putt course that has been swallowed by Jockey's Ridge, a very large sand dune on the Outer Banks. The Outer Banks are constantly moving and Jockey's Ridge moves with the island, taking over whatever is in its path. That's the Atlantic behind me, and in front of me are the turrets of a castle that was once part of the putt-putt course.
