Ever since I was a kid, I have been having this fascination with carousels. I have seen many photos of carousel in flickr but never come across one that was taken by a photographer riding on the pony. When I was at the Santa Cruz Broadwalk, I discovered this 101-year old carousel still in operation. I took my wife for a joy ride and captured the carousel in motion with a 0.6 sec exposure hoping to mimic Monet style impressionism. To make this picture really "bad", I had decided to ride on the pony while holding my Canon 7D and the 24-70L "brick". Incidentally, I have also captured many faces of Alfred Hitchcock. Did you see them?
Here 's more info about this antique carousel at Santa Cruz Broadwalk. I am planning to go back there some other time to capture the night scenes.
