Borneo Tarsier

Horsfield's tarsier (Cephalopachus bancanus) - Danum Valley, Malaysia


Also known as the Western Tarsier, this species occurs in Borneo and parts of Sumatra. Like all tarsiers its entirely nocturnal and a ferocious little predator, it mostly feeds on insects and arthropods but it has been known to consume bats, snakes (even venomous ones), and sleeping birds. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN due to habitat loss.
