Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) - Kinabatangan River, Malaysia

A long tailed macaque chows down on a blossom along the Kinabatangan River in Bornean Malaysia. These monkeys live in social groups that contain up to 20 females as well as their offspring and several males. It was a common sight in Borneo to see these groups moving about foraging for food. The ones in Danum Valley and surroundings are fairly skittish so all my photos were from fairly far away, so I was excited when the ones along the Kinabatangan River were more tolerant of human presence and allowed a much closer approach.
