Small Wonders Series - (#2)

    Newer Older

This is the second image in a series of ruby-throated hummingbirds that I recently photographed at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I was originally going to make this the typical multi-shot set but I felt each photo was worthy of a stand-alone post and thus viewable in LARGE size.

    Ruby-throated Hummingbird (female)
    Archilochus colubris

Really neat perspective....she's really "digging" in to get all the nectar she can muster! Nice feather detail!

Awesome capture! I only brought my macro in the Gardens when I went - it was cloudy.

Beautiful this size, but awesome in large. Such intricate feather detail - lovely color and dof (as always). Great work.

Love the colors in this shot! The deep pink of the flower and the metalic green of the hummingbird compliment each other so well. Top notch photography my friend!
