USS Abraham Lincoln passing Battleship Missouri

USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), is the fifth Nimitz-class supercarrier in the United States Navy. Launched in 1988, she cost $4.5 Billion (in 2007 dollars).

Lincoln's homeport changes to Newport News, Virginia, effective Aug. 1, 2012.

    Dang the USS Missouri has always stuck in my mind as a huge ship and to see the massive size of the USS Abraham Lincoln next to her all I can say is Wow!

    I've boarded the Iowa from a launch, and the deck is just a few steps up the ramp; tonite I stood on the pier looking up at the Lincoln, and it's like looking up a mountain! The ramp is about as tall as BB-61's... but it only puts you on the hanger deck! Thanks.
