Short reach Cinelli 66

    Newer Older

The Cinelli #66 handlebar, "Campione del Mondo". The deepest drop of the alloy Cinelli road bars, it has a relatively short reach. The ramps (portion of the bar behind the lever hood) are rather short and steeply slanted to the hook. This was always uncomfortable to me when used with traditional, non-aero brake levers or early generation aero levers, but the more recent integrated levers such as these SRAM Red levers clamp onto the bar further up on the hook, so that the hood blends into the ramp smoother and close to horizontal.

it is a Cinelli Grammo, 100 x 26.0mm. This is my 1996 Bianchi EL/OS...which is about as retro as I get.

oh, i recently splurged and acquired the "Art" version (anodized multi-colour) of the very same stem and mounted it up on the Bianchi.
