2010 Compass Collector's Association Meeting
This year's meeting was expanded beyond the normal presentations and inspections of 18th century Colonial surveying instruments. The attendees benefited from a great deal of historical research and much leg work by member Torben Jenk. Torben arranged visits to the Philadelphia City Archives, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, also Drexel University to inspect the David Rittenhouse Astronomical Musical Clock, and to view the David Rittenhouse Orrery at the University of Pennsylvania. He also arranged a visit to the University of Pennsylvania Archives to view a surveying instrument by Benjamin Rittenhouse that was used to teach surveying in the university's past.
