Again, this is one that really needs to be viewed Large in order to appreciate.
It was some day yesterday! We were under a Tornado Watch for a while, then a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, and finally a High Wind Alert til the early morning hours this morning. It produced some very strong winds (70 mph at times!), and very ominous looking skies with lovely dark, brooding clouds. This is the best shot I got of the light that shone above the turmoil for a brief time.
There were 30,000 people still without power from the recent ice storm. Now, with the wind storm from yesterday, the number is back up to 120,000 without power in the state of Kentucky. We are very fortunate in that we seem to live in a little pocket that does not usually get hit that hard with bad weather. One of my best friends, who lives only 45 minutes from here, seems to get the brunt of it every time Mother Nature throws a tantrum.
