Dacryopinax spathularia Fungi Taken 3 days ago. Site of the Awful Mite Infection.

    Newer Older

I have been with Bruce Fuhrer for nearly a week now and this was the place we visited and right here was a great load of wood chipped rainforest trees and several fungi on the heap. This one is Dacryopinax spasularia which I think is a collaroid fungi. ?? Using supermacro mode on my camera.

I am so sorry I am not commenting on the photos of my contacts. I want to but am just worn out. Accept my apology. Had a strenuous walk today through rainforest where fungi was poor but some insects around. I am worn out and got a tick and leeches and they got into my sandshoes, one even on a vein. I have a red sandshoe now and itchy where the leeches sucked. Grrr.

Bruce is here for 2 more weeks.

Great shot Ron...nice and colourful !! Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the leeches and tick...not good having those nasties sucking the life blood out of you!! I have only had one tick on me, but luckily it came out easily!! We do get sand flies/fleas here and they are not pleasant...don't know whether you get them where you live!!

      This shot is amazing!

Very interesting fungi and nice colour contrast between the fungi and the wood.

Perhaps you should try cruising too. I can't say that I returned from my week with anything other than exhausted and with some lovely photos for memories.

This is a beautiful shot. Sounds like your week was much more eventful than mine.

A high price to pay, but you got a great shot out of it. The color on tis one is phenomenal.

Hi, nice capture of this extruded jelly
      (its Dacryopinax spaTHularia actually)
It looks like quite a light colour for this.
Perhaps a bit more contrast and saturation would help.
      Good shot anyway.
      Cheers
      Steve

Thank you NZ Wild for picking that up. I put 4 images on fairly quickly and I am hopeless at typing - always have to recheck what I am writing.
