How amazing is this sweet breakfast room??? Those chairs, that light fixture, those terrazzo floors ... sigh!!
This vintage jewel is a one-owner home. The exterior is more traditional, but when you walk inside, it's mid-century modern with Oriental influences all the way. The couple who built this house had lived in an older neighorhood and raised two daughters there, but when the girls went off to college, the parents decided to build their dream home. The man, who owned a chain of mens' clothing stores, was very specific about the type of home he wanted, so he hired an architect (I don't know who) and worked very closely with him to make his vision come to life. The house was completed in 1961, and the husband and wife must have loved the place so much that they never changed a thing. The husband died several years ago, and the wife lived here for several years before she, too, died in her early 90s just recently.
