Taj Mahal, the other side. Agra

Behind the scenery: the Yamuna, holy river, carrying garbage. Tourists are not supposed to come here. Here is the ferryman's boat :

    "Tourists are not supposed to come here." - is that because of security issues or because they want to hide this? Any ideas Joel???

    Seen on a rss aggregator. (?)

    Al is organised to drive the tourists to the main gate, and this side is really clean, only electric vehicles can be used, after a point, to prevent polution which causes dammage to the monument.
    If you want to see the other side, you have to really want it, it's not easy to find the way, there is a barrier and some soldiers with automatic guns and a high fence all along the river bank;
    i tried to walk along it but the soldiers tell me to come back...
    Security, for sure, and a good way to prevent people of going inside for free, third it's really not a good publicity to let tourist come here, everywhere garbage...

  • Howard Somerville 2y

    The picture, at least, is not rubbish.

    The streets and just about everywhere in India is strewn like this with litter, so this riverbank is no exception.

    Howard Somerville

    You are right, Howard!
