Rosemallow HIbiscus Profile

These Rosemallows bloom all along the walks of Mud Island in Memphis, Tennessee. Though the park is closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, there is still a great amount of beauty to be seen.

Hibiscus moscheutos (syn. Hibiscus moschatus orth. var., Hibiscus palustris), rose mallow, swamp rose-mallow, crimsoneyed rosemallow, eastern rosemallow is a species of flowering plant in the family Malvaceae. It is a cold-hardy perennial wetland plant that can grow in large colonies. . It is found in wetlands and along the riverine systems of the southeastern United States from Texas to the Atlantic states, its territory extending northward to southern Ontario.
