Teenage angst versus Serenity
The clouds were looking great so I convinced my son he wanted to head down to the American river with me. I don' t know if others go through this when heading out for landscapes - head debates about where exactly to go, but this was a pretty vigorous one with the odd under breath swear word thrown in.
Trying to work out which way the clouds are moving, where the sun is going to set (as it plummets down to the horizon) and which location would give me the greatest chance of putting something decent together - these are the stuff serious head debates are made of!
Picked a spot, jogged down and found 4 teenagers yahooing and picking up giant boulders and throwing them in the river. It reminded me of an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry keeps saying "Serenity, serenity" to ward off anger. In the end Jerry cracks and lets his anger out and feels so much better for it. So a couple of serenities and I tried to take a picture.
This is a hand blend of two images in Photohop.
