George T. Hitch Jeweler, Roanoke, VA

Ghost sign seen on a wall in Roanoke, Virginia, for George. T. Hitch, jeweler. They sold watches, diamonds, and silverware. At least that last word looks like silverware. His store was located at 118 Campbell Street. Louis Voight constructed the building in 1906, where he owned and operated his jewelry store until 1924 when sold the jewelry business to A.S. Pflueger, and in 1937 Voight sold the building to John M. Oakley Inc., funeral parlor. George

T. Hitch purchased the jewelry business in 1948 and continued it at another location until 1959. The building is now home of The Inn on Campbell bed and breakfast.
