Everytime I see old neon or bar signs of Schlitz, Pabst or Hamms it makes me smile. Those beers are american icons

Great photo. I toured that place as a kid in the 70s. The tattered flag is almost unbelievable.

Rob it must of been cool to see this brewery in operation back in the day. The building is amazing, one can look up from the first floor to the ceiling and other floors

Dig the torn flag. I'd love to see this place in person.

DanCog that flag rocked, still worthy of being saluted.

I'd honestly buy as much of that railing in the lower portion of the photo as possible if it were to ever come available.

Erik H I hear this place will be demolished. I do think that there should of been more attempts to salvage and sell some of this building

Yeah. What's the status of this place. How did you get? Love the fact the place hasn't been looted by scrappers. Would love to get in there with my 4x5.

Vincent Johnson I drove by there a few weeks back and it's fenced-off.

I've been here so many times growing up, I cannot count. My father worked for Schlitz for 44 years and was the union steward at his company. Won so many trips for top seller and my family would get treated like royalty from the owners. This type of longevity with companies is so rare today. He worked for three generations of owners.

BennBooCreations that is a great story. Thanks for sharing, I was in awe when I was exploring the old Schlitz Brewery. I wish it could of been preserved like the old Pabst brewery. It was an unique building. Glad you and your father have fond memories of it
