    I love the wings, you nailed the shape there. The back cockpit and tail also look outstanding.

    I'm not as sold on the whole body shape though. It seems like you could use some more curvature in the overall shape (reference).

    Agreed re: the manga. The movie he made in 1984 captures only about 1/7 of the overall story Miyazaki ended up writing over the following decade. He was publishing volumes of the manga well into the 90's. Obviously, I recommend the original Japanese, but the translations from VIZ aren't half bad. ;-)

    Not familiar with the movie, but this looks awesome. The ends of the wings and area between the cockpits looks particularly nice.

    Agreed, the manga is brilliant, one of the best graphic novels or comics I've read. I think, even more than any of his films this manga is his masterwork, it's one of the few comic-book sci-fi worlds that manages to be both strikingly outlandish and yet utterly believable. It's a great story too.
