Thanks for all your positive comments - Happy Weasel is right about the Crimson Skies influence - but another big influence is the work of anime director Hayao Miyazaki. I love his outlandish flying vehicles! The biggest challenge in building this moc was actually to solve the task I set myself of having another smaller vehicle fit inside it - even if it is only a flying surfboard! I'd have finished it a lot sooner if I had dropped that idea! I have some more ideas in this "fantasy aircraft" theme so watch this space.

This is wonderful - much too much to like about it ;)

I can see your inspiration coming from Miyazaki; you've emulated the style of his aircraft well!

I also totally thought Nausicaa when I saw this. Beautiful and inspiring.

Very, very cool build... bit too cartoony to be very Crimson Skies, but that's the beauty of the Miyazaki influence on this thing.

Lost for words, this is so wonderful!
  • Josselin Guédes 6y

Wonderful. I love the design, the colours, everything.

First thing that came to mind when I saw this was Nausicaä. To be honest Crimson Skies never would have crossed my mind if no one had mentioned it (I still don't think it looks much like something from that game).

But yeah, I love this, very cool design! Looks more mechanically fleshed out then the gunship in the movie (I know it's not supposed to be the ship in the movie, just similar), kind of opposite of what Fredoichi said, more realistic and less cartoony.

Nice ride. Clever landing gear! Love the bubble nose.

One of the best MOCs I have seen for a while.

Oh, I love Crimson Skies. One of my favorite flying games ever. I like the color scheme and the nose, though I think it would look better if the bubble had a gunner in it and a turret below.

Love it! This aircraft is just stunning. Lots of great little details and the overall shape is just awesome.
