Milford - Hutterite Children
A group of Hutterite children in Milford Colony, Montana. The boys wear black pants, suspenders, and hats, like their elders. The girls have headscarves, black and white checked for the older girls. The clothes are homemade. Education is basic. They speak English, but among themselves they speak an old dialect of German. A Friendship Force member who was born in Germany was on the exchange. She could not understand the Hutterites.
