Colon from Ship
There was an area of shops where the ship docked. I presume that it was the Free Trade Zone. The most interesting shop to most passengers was the "Super 99" supermarket, which had a huge selection of beer, wine, and liquor at good prices. It is the store under the large red roof at right.
No problems about money. The U.S. dollar is the legal currency in Panama.
When we returned to Colon on a cruise in 2009, there was another cruise ship terminal - and no Super 99.
