Fort William is a place I feel was kind of killed by bad 1970's planning decisions (the dual carriageway along the seafront and relocation of the station) but this pic shows FW at its best as a transport hub.
Looking from the pier (steamer from Oban - note art deco MacBrayne's office at bottom right), you see MacB buses ranged in the square a stone's throw from the Highland and Grand Hotels (the latter being another masterpiece of art deco).
You can't quite see the railway station but the dormer at bottom left is part of it.
Note that the building with the ecclesiastical round window (I've added a note) is a Macrae & Dick garage. See www.macraeanddick.co.uk/ for this company in the 21st century!
