Stove used for cooking and heating in a Mongolian Ger

Stoves are the source of major winter pollution, spreading thick, toxic smog from thousands of stoves 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

 

The World Bank has introduced more efficient stoves that burn much less coal (three tons per year rather than five), and is now developing a clean air project.
