Inflow to lake Dianchi

What's not generally appreciated is that Lake Dianchi experiences a prevailing southerly wind which blows all the water hyacinth, algal mats and general crud to the north which is the end closest to Kunming and thus the part which gets the most visitors, most attention, and the most polluted water. The inflow to the lake, such as illustrated here, is also worse closer to the city. (Photo courtesy of the KIZ GEF Team)
