Great blue heron at sunset, Cap Brulé, New Brunswick, Canada

As the last vestiges of sunlight are reflected on the water of Shediac Bay (part of Northumberland Strait) a solitary great blue heron seeks its supper. These beautiful big birds appear to be increasing in number on this shore. In the background, pleasure boats sit calmly at anchor, while their occupants enjoy friendship and serenity on the peaceful water.
