Towards Lowland Point

Explore 4.

A shot from the same day as the last post but from the sunset. I went down again on the off chance the sky would be good, and it certainly was. Only trouble I had was that I was in a dodgy area where the waves come straight onto the rocks. I then had a stupid idea, "i know. I'll get a long exposure of this amazing sunset instead of wasting mediocre shots with bad comps". All well and good until I realise my first exposure is too dark, and by the time I got the second exposure which looked better, I realised my comp was quite poor. By then all the colour had gone. For your info, the clouds went every shde of purple pink and blue you ever saw! I was using the live view on the camera as a test to see how clear it is for framing up using the 10 stop. Let me tell you, I could hardly see a thing, fine at midday but not great when the sun has gone down. I ended up with two shots I liked, this one looked better in B&W I felt. Anyway, I will try more soon, I do love the odd long exposure. I will just frame it all up right and in time in future.

17-40mm, 10 stop B&W filter, 3 stop reverse grad.
