Cat Tien National Park, Vietnam

The symbol of Cat Tien National Park is a lesser one-horned or Javan rhino, unfortunately this species was declared extinct in Vietnam in 2010. After the last known individual from the tiny population that existed in the park was found dead, shot by poachers. The species is now extinct in the whole of mainland South East Asia, only one small population still exists in Udjong-Kulon National Park on the island of Java in Indonesia.
